Monday, November 17th did not mark the death of our Volvo.
Four things were damaged in the collision: the radiator (which explains the blue liquid streaming from the car), the radiator header (attaches the radiator to the car… or something), the power steering reservoir (which explains the yellow-orange liquid spilling from the car), and the hood. The car shop where we took it gave us a less than obnoxious quote for the repairs, to our surprise, and it was almost affordable for us. He was also honest enough to say that if price is a big concern, we could likely do many of the replacements ourselves.
Wait, you’re saying we could do something ourselves rather than pay more for someone else to do it? Why, that sounds like the battle cry of our marriage! How could my husband resist?! So here we sit, having decided that we will make the afore mentioned repairs by ordering the parts online and spending much time with our noses in the Volvo S70 manual. Do I say this confidently, as though I am sure that the amount of time we will spend on this (enormous) undertaking will be worth it in the end? No. Is it possible that I will stand before you in 3 weeks time with still only one functional car and a fully frustrated husband? Highly. Am I supportive and along for the ride? Always.

Wow, I’ve replaced door handles on my car but nothing so big as radiator, radiator header, and power steering reservoir. Ya’ll are crazy…
p.s. I’ll see you tomorrow!
I’ll see you tomorrow too!!!
how are the repairs coming along?
