cluttered confidence

Not so long ago I was touting the glories of oversized purses and their miraculous capacity for capacity. Today, however, I come to you a jaded, frustrated large purse wearer. Turns out, if you can fit everything into your purse, you inevitably will. Behold, exhibit A:

Receipts, ipod, gum, post-it notes, camera, altoids, camera battery charger, makeup bag, shopping lists, a few writing utensils, my planner – all of these things are now finding their home in my purse. Apparently bigger isn’t always better. In fact sometimes bigger leads to sore shoulders.

At least it’s socially acceptable for you to keep all that stuff handy. Imagine only using storage space in your clothing. No sympathy.

I have to tell you that I bought a Franklin Covey planner at Target a couple of months ago. I remember when you got yours. I also upgraded to a larger purse to hold said planner. I feel your pain. The grown-up world of purses and planners is not all its cracked up to be.

The problem with all that stuff is how hard it is to switch purses! My Mary Poppins purse is my “work” one, which smells like coffee and is therefore embarrassing to take out shopping :-p

That picture totally reminds me of these purse organizers we sell at my work! Granted, they like everything else in the store, are crazily expensive…but they kind of change your life. It’s like having ikea-style organization in your purse…lol. My purses are also bottomless pits of doom…search for cell phone at your own risk. ;)
