a mommy blogger’s night life

Last night I was out with a bunch of women (and a few men) until the wee hours of the morning 10:00pm. It was a wild and crazy lively party where there was much wine, laughter, and URL exchanging.

I sipped some pinot grigio, nibbled some mini quiche, and discussed the ins and outs of twittering.

We browsed through rooms of gorgeous candle holders, colorful sideboards, and… Hindu god busts?

OBaby had a ball, spending the first two hours soundly asleep in my new ring sling and the last 30 minutes being oogled by mommas right and left.

So, what was I up to so late at night in such a neat setting with so many people and such weird conversation topics?

Why, living a blogger’s night life, of course! MckMama of My Charming Kids organized a gathering at the Mudd Lake Furniture Company for friends and readers (who are friends she just hasn’t met yet). We ate, we mingled and we talked readership statistics.

I went with Mrs. Germann as my partner-in-crime/moral support/No,-you’re-not-crazy-to-meet-people-from-the-interweb pal who was brave enough to ride in a car with OBaby for over an hour each way. He did pretty well on the way there until we got lost near Wayzata which upset him, and on the way back he slept, ahem, like a baby.

My 3rd favorite part of the night was getting to share all of the quirks of being a blogger, like the fact that we all started just you know, blogging and quickly got drawn into the world of blogging. (The two ought not be confused). It was great to be in a place where talking about Google Analytics didn’t result in funny looks from my husband.

The life of a blogger is one that wants to be shared. Most of the time it is electronically, but how wonderful to share it in person from time to time!

My 2nd favorite moment of the night was having MckMama, a professional photographer, take a group picture of us for free. I know, right?

Cindy, the Os, Becky and baby C, and Marjorie

Finally, my favorite aspect of the night: the oohs and awes OBaby raked in. O the cuteness! I was told he was ‘edible’, ‘adorable’, and ‘snuggly’.

True, true, and true.

~~~~~~
O My, what is going on in this picture from the evening? O, nothing.
    How fun! Wish i didn’t live so many states away! When you get consumed in the blogosphere, it’s hard to describe it all to “outsiders” so I can only imagine how fun it would be to hang out with other women who completely understand your “hobby”. :)
    O! How proud I am of you – fellow nursing mom – to DO IT without a cover!! When my first (now have 4 children) was born, I became friends with a mom of 6 who nursed her babies without covers and NEVER once did I see any flesh from her! So, I learned her tricks, and I’ve gone on to nurse all 4 babies for at least a year – without hot blankets. You are AWESOME – and a great encouragement to many many moms. Keep it up! :)
    I’m *finally* getting around to looking at all the “partiers” blogs and I love yours! The pictures are great! I so wish I could have gone but I’m glad so many other people had such a wonderful time! ♥
