Lots of trendy little stores probably have good sales right now - the other day a store in the mall had three pairs for 20. I bought a pair of grey tights and a pair of black tights (leggings actually) from Old Navy. They are SO comfy and don't give me major muffin top (like I need the help, really). :) Good luck with the dying! Er...that sounds weird. You know what I mean. :)

Coloured tights…well I am Canadian and WISH we had Target…but I would imagine you can find them there. And here's how I eventually wore them, for the first time. Not my finest interpretation of their advice, but I'm working on it :)

You could pull of skinny jeans, especially with a flat, felt boot. Probably like the ones in your first picture.

I vote camel or burgandy. I haven't slept much lately so I want to apologize if I come across as not nice and sweet. You seem to have the same skin coloring, and are drawn to similar colors. My suggestion? Navy blue. It works fantastically with the green and brown, still is a neutral, but can be mixed later with every color you can think of. Navy and yellow? Nice. Navy and pink or purple? Pretty. Navy and red, good in moderation. And navy with grey is stunning in most cases. Hope this helps!
Oh and as someone who loves her skinny jeans (and loved them when I was more curvy too) I would say anyone can wear them, it's how you wear them. If you feel your derrier is too "there" then try wearing them with a tunic and flats. It's a cute look on nearly everyone! And the belt over the shirt is slightly impractical if you are nursing, but you might try it again later. It really can nip in your waist and be a nice accent to a great outfit.

Okay, hmmm….can I just say screw the matchy matchy look? Is that too harsh? Two weeks ago I bought my first pair from Target. At first I was like "no way they make my tush look bigger", but then I realized they look good if you wear them with boots over the skinny bottom part. Ankle or knee high boots make everything look more proportionate.

The belt over the shirt thing never worked for me, it just didnt feel right but I would try shopping for skinny jeans again. Shoot, I've even been talked into tights and might possibly consider shopping for skinny jeans again.
