these days in parceled thoughts

My freckles haven’t started hibernating for the winter yet. This makes me very happy.

Fall also makes me very happy. I’m participating in it at every opportunity. Apple orchard play dates, I baked pumpkin muffins, burning my Autumn Wreath Yankee Candle, got out the boys’ sweaters and pants, and I haven’t shaved for a week. Come, Autumn, come.

My boys both have stuffy noses, although the baby is significantly more upset about it than the toddler. And by upset about “it” I mean upset about that blue suction-y thing his parents keep putting up his nostrils right before he nurses. That thing is the PITS.

I’m knitting again, and at a furious pace. I completed a pumpkin hat for OBrother within 24 hours of purchasing the yarn. When I tried it on him, OBoy was jealous of the ‘punkin hat’… so now I’m making him one, too.

Yes, of course I’ll share the pattern with you and show you a picture.

OBoy split his lip open on Monday. He face planted on asphalt. From the feeling of it, I could swear my heart was right there getting roughed up with him. His lip is fine now and is healing faster than my nerves. (That was so hard to watch.)

I ran 7 miles on Sunday. It was amazing. The perfect weather, a good attitude, and a chill but encouraging pandora station to listen to got me there. I am also blessed to have a courageous husband who is willing to tackle two kids solo in the evening (of all times) so that I can go run for over an hour.

Sleep is, well. I don’t want to talk about it.

I’ve got a little something up my sleeve for Friendly Friday tomorrow. This is going to be more challenging for me than I thought (which is a good thing). It’s so good to have this as an extra reminder in my week to look for ways to bless others. I hope you join us!

Apple orchard play dates? Oh. My. Goodness. That sounds wonderful!

My little boy hated the blue sucky thing too… I couldn’t do it to him…made my husband. I sure hate watching my baby cry (even if its over things that are good for him), but I cannot imagine how my heart would feel if he (when he) hurts himself! I imagine that it does very much feel like your heart is right there! Glad is lip is healing!

You check out tyev Nose Frida- I find it is much easier to use and more comfortable for the baby.

  4. 7 MILES!! That’s incredible. I am in LOVE with the hat….the only question that remains is how much would you charge Oboys future MIL for one?

holy heck.. did you just decide to run 7 miles and DID IT? did you work up to 7 miles? seriously I don’t think I could run around our cul-de-sac and I’m not like huge or anything. Just a TERRIBLE runner. I’ve always dreamed of running.. it just makes me feel horrible. Like I could die. You should do a blog post on your running escapades :)

    Hi!
I fear the day my guy bleeds like with a busted lip. Could happen any time now. LOVE the hat. I am dreaming of a hat like that, but a banana for my lil one. Clinton (2 yrs) is going to be a monkey and Stella (5wks) is going to be a banana for haloween. Thanks for sharing and keep up the awesom running progress!
