we were made for kindness

It was beautiful, and not because of any effort we put in ahead of time. The beauty was the women. For many it was not easy to come, to walk through that door, to step out of our comforts. But they were brave and we were blessed to have them there.

Brothers, let us come together
Walking in the Spirit there’s much to be done
We will come reaching out from our comforts
And they will know us by our love

Nervous, excited, shy, anxious, giddy, we filled the kitchen and our conversations spilled into the entryway and living room. We cuddled up in the den with blankets, the fireplace lit and videos of Jesus women projected on the wall and into our hearts. They showed us how God has been using these silly little websites we write to bring women together, protect unborn life, break the chains of slavery, heal hearts.

Sisters, we were made for kindness
We can pierce the darkness as He shines through us
We will come reaching with a song of healing
And they will know us by our love

The Spirit wove its way through that room, 32 women we sat, hearing how we can use our words to bring light, to create, to heal. We passed kleenex. We were filled to the measure with courage. We were reminded what a gift these words are that we’ve been given. May we wield our words to His Glory.

The time is now
Come church arise
Love with His hands
See with His eyes
Bind it around you
Let it never leave you
And they will know us by our love

{A mere fraction of our group because I totally forgot to take a group picture while everyone was still there.}

I loved being a part of (in)RL here in Minnesota, but did you know that sisters met up all over the world?!

A few things – 1)I cannot get over how beautifully and seamlessly you write – straight from the heart! 2) pictures are great – brought me right back to the amazing event 3) Where did the baby come from? Was I that nervous that I missed a baby in the group…..I can usually sense them from miles away!!

Thanks again for your hospitality, and for opening my eyes to this amazing community of women!

I don’t know how I mistook you for Heather of the EO. You are clearly Kelly. I just needed to connect the blog name! :) Thanks for being so sweet and welcoming. :)

Yes. Thank you for hosting, my dear! It was a blessing and an encouragement. I was so nervous to come, but am grateful for the connections that God made for me. (Hi Paula!) My only regret is that I couldn’t stay longer to talk with everyone more!

Yes. I feel like we didn’t get to chat much, you and me. SO glad you connected with others, though!

Thank you so much, Allison. It was a beautiful time.

(I love how Elsie is STARING at you in that picture. Like she might just try to swallow you.)

Love how you wove the song with the events of the afternoon.

It was an amazing afternoon, and I loved being able to follow online as the meetings continued around the world!
