29 Johanna Price Photography giveaway!

Did you feel it? That little ache in your ovaries as your page loaded in the browser today? Please allow me to explain.

Yea, that’ll do it.

O for Pete’s sake don’t you just want to stick your nose right between those little fingers and that little cheek and go nuzzle nuzzle nuzzle?!? Me too. That photo is darn precious and I am so excited to have it here on my blog! Did you see it over there?  —>

A brand new sponsor of O My Family, Johanna Price Photography is a Twin Cities-based newborn, infant & family photographer. She does natural light, on-location sessions to capture your family’s priceless memories. And her stuff? It’s good. Just check out her blog.

I mean, hello, talent:

Yep, we have Johanna Price Photography to thank for that baby urge, but aching ovaries aren’t the only thing she’s giving away today.

Minnesotans! Listen up and get excited!

Johanna is giving away one time slot for a mini photo session on October 9!

{I realize that some of those words are teensie weensie on my site. You can click the image to view it full size. kthanxbai.}

How awesome is that?! The giveaway package includes: 20-min session at Elm Creek Park Reserve, 2 digital files for your holiday cards, 1 8×10 and 2 5x7s.

FREE! FANTASTIC! FAMILY! PHOTOS!

I am, if you can’t tell, just a wittle excited to give this away to one of you!

And now, let me take a moment to give my testimony of the awesomeness of mini-sessions. DanO, OBaby and I were photographed in a mini-session a couple of months ago and to be honest, it was the best photography experience we have ever had on the other side of the camera. Often, babies and toddlers (and heck kiddos and teens) don’t have the patience for an extended session. So, not only was it cheaper because the photographer was on site the whole day and was able to reduce the sitting fee, but we got just the right pictures in a painlessly short amount of time. I’m confident that Johanna’s mini-sessions would yield the same results!

So? What do you say? Want to win a free photo session with an incredibly talented photographer just in time for the holidays? (Yes, I said it. The H word. Holidays. Holidays. Holidays. They are a’comin’.)

Leaving a comment on this post is all you have to do to enter! Of course, for those over achievers, you can gain one extra entry by tweeting this:

3 speaking of what’s for dinner

Our beautiful friends the Botz are following God’s call on their life to adopt a precious little one into their family. Anna Botz was one of our two birth class instructors (and the sister-in-law of our doula, the other instructor) and Lucas, her hubby (is consequently our doula’s brother) is a great guy and a great photographer. DanO and he could yack for hours together about home improvement, technology, power tools, programming, and graphic design. They (Anna and Lucas, not Lucas and DanO) have two adorable biological kiddos and we are thrilled for them to add to their family.

Why am I talking about this? Because tonight we will be eating spaghetti, listening to live music and playing in a photobooth at a benefit dinner to raise money toward the Botz adoption. (Did you click that photobooth link? You really should.)

And guess what? The Botz would love to have you join them!

I know it’s short notice, but if you live in the twin cities and are looking for a family activity tonight, we’d love to see you there! Here’s a post on their blog with more information although pretty much everything you need to know is in the photo above.

(Also, if you go all legalistic Pharisee on me and try to say that this is breaking our “eating out” fast, I will roll my eyes in your general direction.)

25 my little man is definitely a toddler

So could someone please explain to me why size 9 month clothes still hang off of him?

68 budget, meet september. september, meet budget.

True confessions time, shall we? We eat out a lot. I don’t mean like sit-down restaurants with huge portions, I just mean we seem to do it on-the-go or at coffee dates or lunch dates or sometimes it’s take-out or coffee drive-through or take’n’bake pizza or coffee from the cafe in Target or food courts [...]

12 like a scene from a movie

I have never seen a more beautiful backdrop to a wedding than the one behind my dear friend Janell as she married her college sweetheart. I brought OBaby with me out to Oregon for the ceremony because through a series of events and never being in town at the same time, Janell had not met [...]

26 you know how… (solo trip to Oregon edition)

You know how when your baby cries and screams hysterically for 6 seemingly eternal minutes as the plane is taking off but then finally falls asleep on your lap and the way your arm is positioned makes it feel like it is going to fall off to the extent that you have thoughts of having [...]

21 i promise we put pants on him some days

But this day it was hot. Also, he was mischievous. And bored. So? I let him find out what happens when you play with a hose. (It solved a multitude of problems.)
