At the pediatrician’s office for our 18 month well-visit and to have her check out his poor bottom (O My Gosh it is the rash that won’t stay dead).

The stats:
Weight: 22lbs, 4oz (10th percentile)
Height: 32.25in (50th percentile)
Head: 19.25in (75th percentile)

(He has his father’s head.)

We just had our 18 month check up as well. We had about the exact same stats! Glad to see there’s another slender active one out there!

Poor guy! :( Sounds like a food allergy to me. My son struggled with diaper rash at about the same age. It peaked with bleeding sores and a fever being sick on the couch! I took him to my nutritionist and she tested him (no needles–muscle response) and we found that it was fruit (don’t forget tomatoes) and all grains–especially wheat, but oats, rice, corn, rye, etc! Maybe try cutting some of those out for him and seeing if it improves.

is it a yeast infection? You could try Lotrimin AF on it. It helped my little guy’s bum when he got horrible terrible bleeding rash. My Pedi said Anitbacterial ointment, lotrimin and then diaper rash cream (we used butt paste) slathered on as thick as you can. I hope he feels better.

Another thing that could help with the rash, but tends to be a little messy, (but that I’ve heard works great) is honey (like, the natural kind – from bees, not the pure sugar stuff they call “honey”). Also, you could try an oatmeal bath, or A&D ointment with a little cornstarch powdered on afterwards. Diaper rashes are miserable! I hope he feels better soon!!

That is almost to the tee of what Dylan’s measurements were last month at her 18 month appointment. Gotta love having a peanut.
