the spu to my moni

While I’m wandering around the house looking for things to alphabetize, DanO is rapidly conquering the basement. Then, when he emerges from the basement, like so:

(Sorry for the blur. Would you believe me if I told you that he never stands still? Like, ever?)

I swoon. His forearms covered in sheet rock dust get me every time.

And his smile, under that 3M breathing mask (only the best!), I know it’s there, and it makes me weak in the knees*.

*The relaxin my body has been producing these last few weeks to allow my connective tissue to stretch more easily during labor may also have something to do with that.

But I tend to think it’s him.

And last night when I was an absolute itchy, rashy mess, DanO drew me a bath, downloaded a few episodes of a show we like, and set up camp on a pillow in the bathroom, playing the shows from the laptop so that we could watch them together and I could relax in the tub.¬† He sat on the ground of the bathroom (which he tiled beautifully last November, by the by) just so he could be in my company while I took a bath so hot as to burn of the nerve endings in my epidermis (don’t worry, I did not just make a crass anatomical reference… it just means skin).

And this was after he brought me spumoni ice cream for dessert in my favorite mug. I love spumoni ice cream.

But more than that, I love him.

Oh, what’s that? I’ve been having contractions for a good long while this morning?

Shhhhh, keep it on the down low; let’s not jinx it.
