Hi, I’m a new reader. Love this photo! I just finished reading all of the archives, which took a few days since my 7-month-old keeps me pretty busy. I am certainly intrigued by your blog and your cute family! Sometimes while reading O My Family, I couldn’t agree more with what you’re saying, and other times I couldn’t DISagree more. But overall I enjoy reading what you have to say and looking at your photos and the glimpse of your life you give on here. I’m curious: is your biological mother alive/in your life? You mention your dad so frequently, and I know your stepmom has been on here, but your mother is never discussed. Not trying to pry, but you’re so open and honest about so many personal things that I hope you don’t mind. I mostly ask because you seem like a wonderful mother and I’m wondering if you’re following the example of your own mother or if you’re the mom who’s trying hard NOT to be what her mom was (my husband had an absent father and subsequently has thrown every ounce of himself into being the most present, loving father he can to our son). Anyway, keep up the good work and hope to hear back! I look forward to adding your blog to my morning reading!

Let me just warn you right now that those curls will never come back once you cut them! It took me forever to decide to cut Landon’s special curl, and only that day was I told that those baby hair curls don’t come back. Oye, the tears I shed!

Here is my blog post about it: My Baby’s First Haircut — Why I’m Still Crying http://dagmarbleasdale.com/2009/07/babys-first-haircut/
