This morning I scooped a spoonful of yogurt off of OBaby’s bib and into his mouth, unloaded the dishwasher, filled a sippy cup, and prepped the diaper bag for a long day away… all while on the phone with a hardware store discussing the specs of their delivery boom truck and placing a sheetrock order.
I have been given the honorary title of General Contractor on the upstairs (quick! someone get me an engraved hardhat!). Which means I make lists. And do math. (PS: Totally used geometry to figure out the area of the front wall in the master with vaulted ceilings. If I could remember the name of my high school geometry teacher, I would thank her.)
To add insanity to our crazy, we are getting a new roof this week. Since constant pounding is not conducive to toddler naptimes in. the. least, I drive around every afternoon until OBaby falls asleep in his carseat, then I find a strategic store in front of which to park. (“O look! It’s Target!”)
It’s also All Or Nothing week on the inside of our house renovation because sheetrock arrives on Friday. This translates to DanO getting in the door from work at about 3:45, changing into ‘work clothes’ and going straight upstairs until sundown. Then, when the sun does go down around 7:00, DanO stops working, stuffs his face with dinner (finally), and we discuss plans, changes, orders, schedules etc.
It’s all Mommy, all the time for OBaby this week. So far we’ve watched an inordinate amount of TV (so sue me), eaten slam dunk dinners and lunches (pizza, chicken nuggets, cheese quesadillas, and McDonald’s), and taken awesomely long, splashy baths every night before (I do) bedtime (solo).
Now, what was that about a girls’ night again? Cuz Mama needs one real bad.

Minnesota friends and bloggers! I’m all giddy! I have something fabulous to share with you:
No, really I want to invite you (and TREAT two of you) to an evening of girl time, pampering, fashion, swag, food and drinks, and rubbing various baby bellies that will be present (mine included, of courses).
“That’s crazy. Nothing that awesome could actually exist, Allison.”
O, but it does. And it’s THIS SATURDAY, April 2nd from 7-9pm.
Here’s what they had to say about the evening’s plans:
“This BlogLove™ networking event will to include a small fashion show and shopping event at Houndstooth Boutique in Savage, MN, music by DJ Kane & food and drinks. Therapon Skin, who is sponsoring the event, will be pampering us with their product and Chanel from Bloomingdales at the Mall of America will be sharing make-up tips. It will be a great time to be inspired for Spring! And, at the end of the evening there will be a great swag bag to take home with treats from The Vintage Pearl, Gussy Sews, Urban Halo, Red Stamp, Savvy MN, Bloomingdales & Chanel cosmetics and of course, Therapon Skin.”
While I realize that none of that is *quite* as cool as an evening spent doing geometry and calculating how many rolls of vapor barrier I need to order, I’ve decided that I will attend anyway. ;) And you should too!
You can buy your ticket on EventBrite here, ooooor…
