I need a girls’ night out, do you? {giveaway!}

This morning I scooped a spoonful of yogurt off of OBaby’s bib and into his mouth, unloaded the dishwasher, filled a sippy cup, and prepped the diaper bag for a long day away… all while on the phone with a hardware store discussing the specs of their delivery boom truck and placing a sheetrock order.

I have been given the honorary title of General Contractor on the upstairs (quick! someone get me an engraved hardhat!). Which means I make lists. And do math. (PS: Totally used geometry to figure out the area of the front wall in the master with vaulted ceilings. If I could remember the name of my high school geometry teacher, I would thank her.)

To add insanity to our crazy, we are getting a new roof this week. Since constant pounding is not conducive to toddler naptimes in. the. least, I drive around every afternoon until OBaby falls asleep in his carseat, then I find a strategic store in front of which to park. (“O look! It’s Target!”)

It’s also All Or Nothing week on the inside of our house renovation because sheetrock arrives on Friday. This translates to DanO getting in the door from work at about 3:45, changing into ‘work clothes’ and going straight upstairs until sundown. Then, when the sun does go down around 7:00, DanO stops working, stuffs his face with dinner (finally), and we discuss plans, changes, orders, schedules etc.

It’s all Mommy, all the time for OBaby this week. So far we’ve watched an inordinate amount of TV (so sue me), eaten slam dunk dinners and lunches (pizza, chicken nuggets, cheese quesadillas, and McDonald’s), and taken awesomely long, splashy baths every night before (I do) bedtime (solo).

So.

Now, what was that about a girls’ night again? Cuz Mama needs one real bad.

Minnesota friends and bloggers! I’m all giddy! I have something fabulous to share with you:

An evening!

No, really I want to invite you (and TREAT two of you) to an evening of girl time, pampering, fashion, swag, food and drinks, and rubbing various baby bellies that will be present (mine included, of courses).

That’s crazy. Nothing that awesome could actually exist, Allison.”

O, but it does. And it’s THIS SATURDAY, April 2nd from 7-9pm.

It’s called the BlogLove™ Spark & Style Event, hosted by my friends Chris Ann and Kristin of LoveFeast Table Blog.

Here’s what they had to say about the evening’s plans:

“This BlogLove™ networking event will to include a small fashion show and shopping event at Houndstooth Boutique in Savage, MN, music by DJ Kane & food and drinks.  Therapon Skin, who is sponsoring the event, will be pampering us with their product and Chanel from Bloomingdales at the Mall of America will be sharing make-up tips.  It will be a great time to be inspired for Spring!  And, at the end of the evening there will be a great swag bag to take home with treats from The Vintage Pearl, Gussy Sews, Urban Halo, Red Stamp, Savvy MN, Bloomingdales & Chanel cosmetics and of course, Therapon Skin.”

While I realize that none of that is *quite* as cool as an evening spent doing geometry and calculating how many rolls of vapor barrier I need to order, I’ve decided that I will attend anyway. ;) And you should too!

You can buy your ticket on EventBrite here, ooooor…

:: Here’s the giveaway part! ::

I’ve been on the fence about going seeing as Savage is SO far away for me but if I had free tickets, hmm!!

  2. Jo

I tweeted. People are saying that Savage is so far away…I have to drive 1 hour and 21 minutes but would totally do it just to see Allison O. :D <3

  3. Mary

There ought to be a law against opening sentences like the one in your blog. I’d rather read your Menards bill. Spare me.

    • AllisonO

Lucky for you I left off the part about simultaneously gestating a human being then, huh?

I would be happy to spare you, friend. There’s a red ‘x’ in the top right corner of this window. You are more than welcome to click it at any time.

Oh lookit Allison! You have your very own troll! Woot! Is this your first or have their been others? I feel like we should have a party or something!

        *rolls eyes*

Your next post should be your Menard’s bill. Just for Mary

  4. Tara

Sounds like a lot of fun! Savage is so close to me and could totally make this event!

  5. Jess @ Bringing Up Baby

Aw man, this sounds like so much fun and it’d be so cool to meet all you mn bloggers, alas, that is the ONE weekend I’ll actually be out of town for a much needed mini vacay in brainerd.

    Have fun!

  6. Megan

That looks like a lot of fun! Good luck with your renovations!

We have been remodeling our bathroom for the past three weeks, so although it isn’t quite as big of a project and we hired a contractor to do the majority of it, I can definitely relate to the construction stress with little kids. That said, I could totally use a girls’ night! And I would like my bathroom back :)

If I win do you want my other ticket? I’m coming with Harper and I’m pretty sure she doesn’t require one. :)

      • Anna

Sure! But is the giveaway for 2 seperate tickets? I’m confused. You know, there would be 2 winners? :)

        • Jo

OH…i’m dumb. I thought it was ONE giveaway for TWO tickets. Silly me.

  8. Jen

You DO need a night out. I wasn’t going to go to BlogLove because I’m a cheapskate. But hubby is gone all day so I’ll be ready to escape when he gets home. So please pick me! :)

  9. MamaBear

I’m not going to let a little flood stop me from getting out – it’s been AGES since I’ve done something FUN for ME!

    Thanks for the give-a-way Allison!

  10. Casey

Pick me! It sounds like a blast. I’ll tweet it, too.

Savage? I can do Savage, it’s in my backyard! Saturday? I can do Saturday! And I’d love to meet you. ;-)

  12. Jamie H

I’d LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to go! Not sure if Hubby would let me spend the money though. Winning a ticket would definitely ensure that I could go! I have yet to meet many MN bloggers.
