ok, ok, the 32 weeks belly

It’s funny. I am quite pregnant, and although my body reminds me of that fact on a regular basis, I don’t feel as pregnant as I felt at this point last time. Maybe that’s because around this time with OBaby I was thinking “I couldn’t possibly get any bigger” and this time I know I will get O, O so much bigger in the next 8 weeks.

There’s nowhere to grow but out.

Which would explain why my belly button enters a room about 7 minutes ahead of me.

“O, look! It’s a belly button!

O, hey Allison.”

A neat thing about this time around is that with the cooler weather, I’m not retaining nearly as much water. Cankles were the battle cry of my entire 3rd trimester with OBaby (please do not click the link to that post from my last pregnancy if you are currently eating. Cankles is an understatement), but this time ::whispers:: my feet are hardly swollen, even at the end of the day. ::looks around, hoping she didn’t jinx it::

As more evidence of that, I’m still wearing my size 4 1/2 engagement ring. Now, I’m not claiming that it fits me like it normally does, but I have only gained 15lbs* so far and with the lack of swelling, I don’t look to be headed for that 43lb mark that I hit with OBaby.

*That’s not to say that I started this pregnancy at the same weight as I was when I became pregnant with OBaby, so… uh… yea. Weight. Isn’t this such a fun topic? Moving on.

I am mostly just surprised to wake up every Wednesday and to see on my calendar that I am a week further along with cooking Gummybear. I find myself wondering all the time what he will be like, if we will stick to the name we *think* we have chosen for him, how his birth will go (and WHERE it will go), if he will look like OBaby did, if he will act and sound like OBaby did, and if I will ever sleep again.

Also? I somehow just noticed that Gummybear’s due date is three days after Mother’s Day. I have very mixed feelings about this, because I think to give birth on Mother’s Day would be an incomprehensibly cool thing, and OBaby came at 10am ON his due date, so with this being my second it is quite possible that he be born on Mother’s Day. But seriously. We need every full weekend we can get to finish the upstairs remodel.

I am very torn.

Or! Maybe he’ll peek out and be all “Dad? You finished laying the tile in the shower yet? No? K, cool I’ll just chill in here then until it’s safe to come out.

I’d be down with that too.

gorgeous! simply gorgeous. that blue is divine on you! :)
Also, my 2nd came 1 week late and my 1st was only 4 days late.
So maybe he’ll give you some extra time to finish up. :)
I wish you calm, sleep-filled, peace-filled weeks leading up to Gummybear’s arrival. :)

adorable pics Allison! You reminded me that I should pull out old belly photos and compare where I am now (24 weeks today) to what I looked like 6 and 4 years ago. But maybe that wouldn’t be a good idea…I’m feeling much bigger this time around, but not being able to be outside and active has played a role in that I think.

Good luck with the rest of the remodel!!!!

Ahh, the good old days! LOL! My daughter is 8 1/2 months old now, I remember feeling and thinking all of those things. We are talking about baby #2 now but I am terrified!!! My daughter is SUCH good baby!

I was due with Tillie on the 17th of May, but she was born on the 7th. I know my Cankles appeared on St. Patrick’s Day.

I hope they stay away from you this time!

Well you know, with the 11th as a due date if you were on the same “schedule” as me they would have started to swell already! Maybe you are in the clear!

you look GREAT~ With all of mine I had to take my ring of WAY early (and I gained 60 lbs with my first, 43 would be refreshing this time around). my husband finally resized my ring for me. I’ll NEVER be wedding skinny and I’m okay with that. My #2 was born on my husbands birthday and #3 was born on fathers day! (although it’s not always ON fathers day) and both were really fun! Mothers day is SOOO close! (looking at my own due date in October) Congrats and good luck!

You look great! I can only hope that at 32 weeks I will only have gained 15 lbs! With my first I gained at least 50…I stopped keeping track after that. :-)

PS…your shirt is adorable! Where, oh where, did you get it??? :-)

You seriously make me laugh so hard – I love your posts! I feel like you are talking to ME! :) You are adorable in those pictures with Gummybear!

Also, I feel like you went to a birthing center and posted before but not after to tell us what you thought and all…. am I wrong or am I missing a post somewhere? Would love to hear about it! Obviously the decision is not made yet since you did emphasize WHERE. ;)

You are so cute my teeth hurt. And I kind of want to punch you in your adorable little face for still fitting in your engagement ring. Mine hasn’t fit since I was pregnant with baby #1. I can just now get my wedding ring back on…and that’s AFTER I had it sized up half a size. BOO.

Allison, you are O so gorgeous!! ;) You look fantastic, and I can’t believe you are still fitting in your ring, OR that you were a 4.5 to begin with! Good gracious! Also, I looked at your cankles, they are NOT quease-worthy. :)
