my little tardy mother’s day gift

Isaac Gabriel Olfelt

Born Monday May 9 2011, 6:42am

8lbs 10oz, 20in long

Perfect.

Bless his heart, it was short this time. 8 hours of suddenly strong contractions, 5 hours in the hospital, 3 minutes of pushing. Latching and nursing like a champ.

I have been following your tweets. When we brought home our second just eleven months after we brought home our first I felt like I had betrayed him and cried so hard. My mother reminded me that God had our eldest in mind when he knit our daughter together in my womb…..this was his plan. The feeling of insufficiency is hard, yet another aspect of life where we can glory in the complete sufficiency of our Redeemer. Be easy on yourself everything is so new and everyone is so tired. Thank you for sharing this journey and your sweet family with us. Isaac is precious. Good Job Mama!

Congratulations O Family! Happy to hear it was a quick labor/delivery and you all are healthy (though slightly jealous of the three minutes of pushing part).

I’m guessing you are feeling in the trenches right now. As a mom of two little girls, 20 months a part, I can promise it does get easier. You’ll have those moments, especially as M adjusts, but I promise you will be thrilled to have done it this way.

    Hugs to you all!
