the same three pounds

And not like a little whoopsie daisie. More like an ‘O crap, what was I thinking?’.

I told you last week that I was feeling tempted to give up at this weight. To call it a day. To tell my body and its desire to stay in the mid 150s that hey, you win. And last weekend I did.

I went on a leadership retreat for my MOPS group (steering team fist bump to all my MOPS moms out there) and I said to heck with it. To heck with eating appropriate portions and choosing the healthier option and saying no to skittles by the fistful. To heck with it.

Know what else went to heck?

(I’ll give you one guess.)

After near-binging on food all weekend and saying no to nothing, I am back on the Medifast bandwagon with a vengeance this week. Except this time, instead of making forward progress, I will be losing the same three pounds I lost already this month.

How am I losing that weight, you ask? Medifast!! If you use the coupon code, OFAMILY56, and sign up for Medifast Advantage, when you order $250+, you’ll receive 56 free Medifast Meals and free shipping! (More details at the bottom of this post.)

Disclosure: I receive free product in order to evaluate and comment on my experiences on the Medifast Nursing Mothers Program. I will only ever tell you how I actually feel about this experience and the Medifast products. Pinky swearsies. I am supposed to tell you that the Medifast Program is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or illness and that any medical improvements noted while on the program are related to weight loss in general, and not to Medifast products or programs. K, you got that? Good. There will be a quiz later.

You and me both sister. NO CHEATING THIS WEEK!!! For either of us. (I already accidentally ate two grapes!) :)

    Hey, girl!

I love, love, love reading your blog. I started during your pregnancy with OBrother which was also my second pregnancy with our second girl. ( Alice Virginia’s a month younger than OBrother.) And I’m right there with you on the weight loss journey except that I’m still not back to pre-preggo weight. Anyway, I’d worked really hard and lost 8 pounds. Then my mom and sister came to visit and in a week – ONE WEEK – I gained 5 of them back. How is that even possible? :) You’re doing great and look awesome!

It’s worth it, Allison. The journey is worth the end result. Just make sure the journey is one you can continue on and live with happily. You are doing great, you have a good attitude and a weekend off is something you can live with too.

Love you. You’re doing it. Remember that, YOU’RE STILL DOING IT. Just because you took a weekend off doesn’t mean you gave up. Just get back to it.

You are doing awesome! It was only a weekend, and only 3 pounds. Everyone has set backs!

And YAY for MOPS!! I was on my steering team last year, but have had to step back since I just had my 2nd son 2 weeks ago. Yep, things are a little crazy around here!

Random question: when did your boys start playing/interacting together? Do they even do it now at 1 and 3? My oldest is 2 and my youngest is 2 weeks and I already can’t wait until they are old enough to play and distract each other. Tell me it gets easier!

Aw sweets. Sorry to hear it but you have done so amazingly do far I know those three pounds will be gone so soon!

  7. Jessy

At least you are still doing it!! I would have gotten discouraged and just given up for another week or so.
On a side note; I was going through my phone pictures and found a couple of you from this blog. I must have copied it somehow and saved to my phone. So, if you’ve gotten any messages saying someone is taking stuff from the blog, I promise it’s just me.being dumb.not knowing how to work my phone. :)

Ah, I know how it goes. That’s the worst how quickly it comes back and how hard we work to take it off. Good luck!

I’ve had a week just like that. It’s easy to see a setback as a failure, but it’s not. It’s just a setback. And what’s 3 pounds?!? You can kick those pounds’ butts!

I’ve followed your blog for just about forever. You are definitely an inspiration. I love your spirit and they way you are real.
